Or what we fondly call, "CAMP SNAX!”😋
Generally, when people go camping, it's to get away from it all and try to relax outside while enjoying nature with our loved ones. However, for that to be the case, you probably shouldn't just throw everything together last minute and expect to be out the door with all that you will inevitably need.
For us at least, a bit of prep work makes all the difference for a comfortable time during memorable adventures. It's truly most preferable and comforting for me to be proactive by taking a moment to think about how many meals we'll need ahead of time, cause I love and require lists! Then I’ll start stocking up our necessities, marinating meat, washing and cutting up veggies, so that by the time we’re at the camp site I can continue to have fun with everyone instead of trying to put meals together with minimal tools.
My most used tactic is to pre-make packets! Each person's portion gets divided among aluminum foil packs, all wrapped up, and ready to place on the grill or around the campfire. You could even make them a week or more in advance and store inside a few zip lock bags in the freezer for whenever you need them. I actually started doing this for regular meals at home too, it's nice to just grab a couple packets and throw them in the oven or on the grill for a super easy weeknight dinner. Then clean up is a breeze! No dirty dishes! Yay! 🎉
Here's a sample 4-day menu with some of our favorite tried and true, easy camping recipes that boast minimal cleanup and ample happiness. You can click the links for the full recipe on my site.
